Our Lady of Walsingham

We will celebrate Mass at 5pm, with a pot-luck feast to follow.

The appearance of the blessed Virgin to the Lady Richeldis in 1061 AD resulted in Richeldis building, at the Virgin’s request, a replica of Mary’s house where she received the Annunciation. The Church added a priory in the following century, and the site went on to become one of the greatest medieval shrines.

Also, an interesting explanation of the symbolism used in the statue of Our Lady of Walsingham, which is displayed in several locations within our Parish: https://www.walsingham.org.uk/the-statue-of-our-lady-of-walsingham/
